HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM

BOYS & GIRLS, AGES 15-19

This program is for players ages 15 to 19 to play and compete in a high school varsity and or junior varsity league. The purpose of this league is to supplement and enhance a player's current playing experience. Varsity is an open division but primiarly catered to Grads 10  This program offers a mix of games and practices to allow players to compete for the league championship and cup. Players can register individually and enter a draft pool or bring a team of players to compete and see if they have what it takes to win it all.Eligibility is open to all boys and girls registered in a high school program, all players must not be working full-time or registered in a post-secondary institution and eligibility is for high school students only.
 

MEDIA RELEASE AND WAIVER

Media Day

Each team is given a set time, to take pictures. If players miss media day, there is no makeup date afterwards.

  • ​​Each team has a set 15-minute time slot to take their pictures in the gym with the photographer

Media Waiver/Consent

  • Throughout the season we post pictures, clips and content via our social media outlets (Facebook, Tiktok and Instagram) and YouTube

  • Full gameplay footage may be uploaded to YouTube

LEAGUE PLAY AND PRACTICES

Practices

  • 4 practice dates booked for the season

    • 1 hour each in length​

​

Regular Season Gameplay

  • ​6 regular games minimum with playoff tournament

  • 4 x 10-minute quarters, stopped time at the last minute of each quarter.

  • 2 timeouts per game, 1 per half

​

Rules of Play

  • FIBA rules for all games

  • 2 referees per game​​ to officiate all games

PLAYOFFS AND AWARDS

Awards

  • Individual awards end of season and post-season​​​

  • Team awards for first, second and third-place teams

​

Playoffs

  • March madness style, single-game elimination playoff bracket.

  • Each team qualifies for a playoff tournament however, only the top teams advance

  • Consolation third game and finals game to be played to determine league, first, second and third place winners

AGES AND CATEGORIES

Programs are open to boys and girls and categories and divisions will be based on registration numbers. At the senior level, players are divided by gender.

PRACTICE AND CURRICULUM

​​​Practice plans follow the USA and Canada Basketball program guide, in addition with the the Long-Term Athletic Development (LTAD) model as outlined by Canada and USA Basketball.

HOUSE LEAGUE GAME PLAY

Games are set to match the age, level of play and appropriate developmental level of the child-athlete participant. Game lengths may vary due to breaks or stoppages.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Sports are meant to be fun and promote positive values, teamwork, sportsmanship and effort. We believe in meaningful opportunities for kids to play and grow through the sport of basketball.

Uniform and Orientation Day Fees​

  • Full uniform, Jersey and shorts with customized with name and number

  • Two hours of player orientation and games with coaches to organize players into teams for house league

  • Player photographs taken on orientation day​

30 BD

House League Play and Practices​

  • Your child will be placed on a team with a coach

  • 8 team practice sessions, followed by 8 league games

  • Sessions will be 1.5-2 hours each and include games and practice

  • Referees and scoreboard team to manage games

  • Media and photography​
